All Chinese handset makers in India have lately been on an overdrive as far as smartphone launches are concerned. Vivo has a number of impressive smartphones in its lineup under Y, V and X series. Now the handset maker has gone ahead and launched a new smartphone called Vivo V3 in Indian handset market. This device has been placed by the handset maker in mid-range and comes with specs befitting its price. Here is a brief overview of the handset for those who are looking for a decent mid-range handset.
The design of the new handset is in line with the V series and it looks completely appealing to the eyes. Vivo has launched the new smartphone with an attractive metal unibody design that gives it a premium aura. However, it does eliminate the removable battery, which might be a deal breaker for some. Also, this device comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel located just below the camera module.
Vivo has equipped the newest smartphone in its lineup with a medium sized 5-inch display that happens to be the ideal size. The display of the handset boasts of an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, for an enhanced viewing experience.
Performance and Battery Life
Vivo V3 comes with an Octa-core processor under its hood that has been clocked at 1.2 GHz for a decent performance output. This processor has been accompanied with a massive RAM of 3 GB so that all processes run smoothly. However, the handset has been powered by a 2550 mAh battery that is slightly smaller than what we expected.
The brand has placed a decent 13 mp camera on the rear panel of this handset that can be good for day to day photography. This rear camera module has been accompanied with dual LED flash and Phase Detection Auto Focus for faster focussing. There is a powerful 8 Megapixels snapper on the front panel of the handset as well.
On the connectivity front, this handset comes with dual SIM feature supporting both 4G LTE and 3G out of the box, all that the user has to do is to get a 4G enabled SIM. Other connectivity options on the handset include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS.
This handset is a perfect package of looks and performance, which will result in higher number of sales. However, the only drawback is that it has been priced tad bit higher since many other smartphones are now available with similar specifications and build under INR 10,000. Vivo could have atleast priced it under INR 15,000 to make it a viable choice for Indian buyers.
