Vivo is one of the leading Chinese handset makers that has caused quite a stir in the Indian handset market with its visually appealing and powerful smartphones. The handset gained massive popularity following the launch of its X5 max smartphone, which happens to be one of the slimmest handsets in the world as of now. Now the handset maker has launched V1 Max, which is also a visual delight in terms of aesthetics.
The design of Vivo V1 Max is the standard bar form factor with Vivo's signature two tone color combination on the rear panel. This handset comes with an extremely slim body with a thinness under 7 mm for a premium feel. Moreover, the combination of glossy and matte finish on the body of the handset further elevates the looks of the handset.
The front panel of the handset is dominated by by a 5.5-inch display that is commendable for multimedia viewing and playing graphical games. However, the HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels might play a spoil sport.
The Vivo V1 Max comes with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, which means that the user experience offered by the handset happens to be top notch. However, the real fun lies in the proprietary Funtouch OS 2.1, which happens to be a hybrid between Android and iOS.
Performance and Battery Life
The performance offered by the handset is quite impressive owing to the 1.5 GHz, Octa-core processor, which supports 64-bit architecture. Moreover, the processor comes paired with 2GB of RAM for an enhanced performance. Coming to the battery backup of the handset, Vivo has equipped the device with a 2720 mAh battery for a decent backup.
Vivo has equipped the V1 Max with a 13 Megapixel primary camera on its rear panel that is good for all occasion. Furthermore, there is a 5 Megapixel camera on the front for all those who love to click selfies and make video calls.
The connectivity options on the handset include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and aGPS. The handset also supports USB On-the-go feature for those who like to transfer data on the go.
On the competition front, the handset will be facing off with the likes of OnePlus One, OnePlus Two, Moto X Play and Galaxy S5. All of these handsets are flagship devices from their makers and make for a tall order for the new device.
Vivo has managed to deliver yet another impressive smartphone in the form of Vivo V1 Max. However, unfortunately for the brand, there are far better handsets in the same price range, which enjoy better brand recognition.
