It seems that breaking free from the established norm is the new flavour of the season when it comes to new mobile launches. Google seems to have taken a cue from Apple and is launching two new mobiles under its Nexus series this year. Interestingly, these handsets are being manufactured by two different brands and happen to be next generation iteration of already existing smartphones in Nexus series. Google Nexus 5X is the next generation device of Google Nexus 5 and is being manufactured by LG only.
Coming to the looks of the handset, LG has completely overhauled the design of Nexus 5X as compared to Nexus 5 and frankly we liked the previous device a lot better. This new handset features a rounded chassis, in sharp contrast to sharp edges of Nexus 5. Moreover, the rear panel of the handset houses a circular fingerprint sensor.
LG has equipped the device with an impressive 5.2-inch display that is good for all intent and purpose. Its display comes with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels for an impressive rendition of high quality visuals.
If there is one thing that can be spoken with certainty about this device, it happens to be the fact that it will provide a brilliant user experience. Apparently, Google Nexus 5X happens to be the first ever device that will come with the next generation Android 6.0 Marshmallow update out of the box.
Performance and Battery Life
The new generation Nexus 5X comes with a powerful Hexa-core processor that flaunts a clock speed of 1.8 GHz. The processor is further accompanied by 2 GB of RAM to ensure that the handset handles all tasks and multistasking quite efficiently. The Google Nexus 5X features a 2700 mAh battery for a decent battery backup.
The new gen Google Nexus 5X comes with a 12.3 Megapixels primary camera on its rear panel accompanied with dual LED flash and laser auto focus. While on its front, the handset features a 5 Megapixel selfie snapper.
Not much is known about the connectivity features on the handset as of now, however, it is positive that the handset will feature support for both 4G LTE and 3G. Beside these, it will also offer options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, GPS, wireless charging and NFC.
Considering the price tag it is expected to come in, Google Nexus 5X will be competing with some serious contenders in the market. Some of the top contenders of the handset include Sony Xperia M5, LG G Flex 2 and Google's own Motorola Google Nexus 6.
Given the cult status achieved by Google Nexus 5 and subsequent failure of Google Nexus 6, it is quite apparent why Google would want to repeat the success of Nexus 5. However, the new handset seems to be lacking the finesse of the previous handset. On a positive note, it comes with a much improved hardware including fingerprint sensor and laser autofocus, which will definitely help sell the handset. Our only desire at this point is that Google
